Patricio García Moritán

Studies

He attended primary and secondary studies at L’Ecole de Crans, Switzerland, and at the San Juan Bautista school, respectively. At the latter, he completed his secondary studies in 1994.

He graduated as a Lawyer from the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University in 2001.

He attended post-graduate studies in Regulation of Telecommunications at the Argentine Association of Law on Telecommunications (2005) and at the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University (2006).

He attended Specialization Studies in Economic Administrative Law at the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University (2008).

In 2009, he was awarded the Magister degree in Law and Economics by the Torcuato Di Tella University.

Background

He started his professional career at the Federal Courts of the Federal Capital (Federal Administrative jurisdiction –1996–, and Federal Criminal jurisdiction –1997/1998–).

 He was part of the Litigations Department of the Pozo Gowland & Koch law firm (today, Pozo Gowland Abogados).

 Between 2000 and 2006, he worked as a lawyer at the Telecom Group, serving successively at all the different legal and regulatory areas of the companies of the group. (Telecom Personal S.A. –2000/2002– and Telecom Argentina S.A. –2003/2006).

From 2006 to 2007, he served as Legal Counsel of the Secretary of Communications of the Nation.

As from 2007 he was in charge of the matters related to Administrative Law and economic regulation of the Leverone & Mihura Estrada law firm.

In May 2009, he joined Cassagne Abogados law firm, where he became a Partner in 2015.

He has published articles on his specialty field, taught as guest lecturer and participated in multiple conferences and congresses, both as lecturer and moderator.

Specifically, he served as a moderator at the Conference on Economic Regulation, organized by the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University, on September 13th and 14th, 2007.

He lectured at the Conference on Electronic Security, “Presentation of Bill on Electronic Security”, within the framework of the “Seguriexpo Buenos Aires 2015” Exhibition (White hall, La Rural, 17 September 2015).

He lectured at the Conference on “Institutional Presentation of the Bill on Electronic Security”, organized by the Argentine Chamber of Electronic Security (CASEL) at EXE, Colón Hotel, 4 May 2016.

He lectured at the Congress on Electronic Security (White Hall, La Rural, 7 September 2016).

He lectured at the Forum of Public-private Partnerships, “A New Way of Connecting with the Public Sector from the Private Sector”, Sheraton Hotel, Mendoza, 28 October 2016.

He lectured at the XI Ibero-American Congress of Economic Regulation, Infrastructure, and Public Utilities, “Public Infrastructure, and Economic and Social Development”, organized by the Ibero-American Association of Regulatory Studies (ASIER) and the Specialized Studies on Economic Administrative Law, Post-graduate Department of the School of Law of the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University (UCA), San Agustín Hall, 23rd to 25th November 2016.

He is a member of the Bar Association of the Federal Capital City (CPACF), before the Federal Appellate Court of San Martín, Province of Buenos Aires, and the is a member of the Association of Lawyers of the City of Buenos Aires.
