Carlos Manuel Gonzalez Guerrico


He was born in the city of Buenos Aires on June 14th, 1957.

He attended the Colegio del Salvador, where he completed his high school studies with a humanistic orientation in 1974.

He graduated as a Lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires in 1986.

He attended postgraduate studies in Commercial and Business Law at the University of London, Queen Mary & Westfield College, in 1990 and 1991.

He also attended studies in Strategy at the Argentine Naval War School, as Special Guest (1993): “Strategy”, “Contemporaneous Strategic Concepts”, and “Fenix Drill”.


Within the framework of his professional career, he worked for major law firms, banks, and corporations. Since 1992, he has carried out activities related to the environmental problems and sustainability, working as a collaborator at the Environment and Natural Resources Foundation (FARN).

In 1994, he founded the Environmental Studies Committee of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) and headed it until 2004. In said year and until 2008, he held office as Manager of the Argentine Chamber of the Environmental Industry (CEMA) and he obtained its ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications. He participated actively in the foundation of the Network of the United Nations Global Pact in Argentina, representing the CEMA thereat. Subsequently, he served as Manager of Versus Goliath Argentina S.A., a Canadian company, developing CDM projects in the Carbon Market (2008-2009).

In the years 1993-1994, he took part in a European Studies Program on the environmental issue, organized by the CARI and the Europe-Argentina Club, in relation to which he was received in Spain, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

In 1997, he was awarded a distinction by the Government of the United States as a leader in the environmental field, and he was invited as a Fellow of said government to develop a special program on this issue in the United States.

He was invited to participate in and organized a great number of courses and other activities on subjects related to his specialty field, i.e., environment and sustainable development, in which he participated together with different organizations (governmental and non-governmental), local and national state authorities, and different local and foreign companies and agencies, to which he has rendered advisory services.

He founded and served as managing partner of the González Guerrico law firm until 2013, in which year he joined Cassagne Abogados law firm as an Associate.

At present, he is a member of the Bar Association of the Federal Capital City (CPACF); advisory member of the CARI; president of the Environment and Sustainability Commission of the Argentine-Chinese Chamber of Production, Industry, and Commerce; member of the Argentine-American Network for Leadership (REAL), and member of the Commission of Environmental Law of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)—The World Conservation Union—.

He is an ISO 9001:2000 (Quality) internal auditor and ISO 14.001:2004 (Environment) internal auditor — Det Norske Veritas -DNV- (2006/2007).
